Senator Joseph McCarthy,
Villain or Vindicated?
February 8, 2000
Dear Editor,
Comparing liberal versus conservative news stories of the 50th anniversary
of Senator Joseph McCarthy's coming into the national spotlight has been most
interesting.
On the left, the Salt Lake Tribune's front page cited an article by the
Chicago Tribune claiming that Joseph McCarthy's 'Red Scare' was purely a
fabrication for the purpose of boosting his visibility for re-election.
On the right, the top-ten-rated Internet News service, www.WorldNetDaily.com
reported that newly released FBI files are vindicating virtually every one of
McCarthy's claims.
The tribune's headline for Tuesday Feb. 8, 2000 read, "A
Faltering Bid For Re-Election Started Red Scare."
WorldNetDaily's headline for the same day read, "Most-hated
senator was right -- Scholars: Joseph McCarthy's charges 'now accepted as
fact'"
Gratefully, evidence speaks for itself, and the books now coming forth
proving the voracity of McCarthy's charges show why the liberals were so angry
with him and wanted to discredit him. He was exposing their craft as being in
bed with the Soviet socialists.
Amongst themselves, the liberals are proud of their left-wing alliances;
but they become irate when these alliances are made public, and they lie about
the truth, just like in everything else they do.
Hence the name Joseph McCarthy remains one of the dirtiest names in
politics, though in truth he was a friend of freedom.
Sincerely,
Sterling D. Allan
