Righteous Living Not Calamity
Insurance
Interesting dialogue. I suppose, for the sake of discussion (with the qualification
that I agree with most you had to say) that I'd challenge the idea that righteous living
is calamity insurance. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be Job, an innocent Egyptian
first-born or Joseph Smith (all of who suffered calamity at either a personal or community
level). Sometimes I'm inclined to believe that much of the pain we suffer is a natural
consequence and that the "undeserved" tribulation is something to test our
metal.
