Taiwan Earthquake : Blessing in Disguise?

Taiwan Quake
(Time Magazine, Oct. 4, 1999, p. 80)

Just a quick thought.

Is it possible that the Taiwan earthquake is a blessing in disguise?

Though the Taiwan earthquake is taking a terrible toll on the
Taiwanese, it is nothing like what an attack from China would impose.
Now that Taiwan is down and out, human sentiment will be very strongly
opposed to any kind of aggressive action by China.

Saving face is very important in the Asian  cultures.

Perhaps the earthquake is God's way of giving us all more time before
all hell breaks loose on this planet -- more time to repent, more time
to turn to God, to stop fighting one with another, to stop turning our
backs on the poor, to stop building up the New World Order of forced
peace.

Maybe, just maybe, if we take this and the many other extensions of
time we have been given, the massive disasters prophesied to come may
be turned away or significantly diminished.

Schopenhauer
All truth passes through three stages:
   First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident.
