Military Man and Potential
Gun Confiscation
Today when I reached the top of Mount Nebo, there was a guy from the
National Guard there along with a female companion who had a side gun holster.
Noting that he was fully decked with rifle and all, probably as part of
training, I approached him and asked this question:
"If the time came that the United States were to round up guns from
Citizens, and you were ordered to participate in that, would you do so?"
He paused, and said, "That is a hard one."
Then, a few seconds later, he said, "Yes, I guess I would, if it was an
order."
Then he hastily added, "But I would keep my gun."
He then mused that most of the National Guard guys he knows are very pro-gun
rights and have collected a few guns of their own. He also told us he is with
BYU's ROTC officer training program.
I then pointed out to him that the right to bear arms is the final check on
power built into the Constitution, and if that is taken away, then what we
have left is tyranny. I then sincerely asked him if he would want to continue
serving a government that had taken away this crucial right. I asked him if
maybe at that time he wouldn't consider relinquishing his allegiance.
He then responded that he probably would not want to [continue serving a
government that had strayed this far] . . . "IF the time should ever come
that they would do that."
To that, my Dad who had been listening in quickly replied, "Not IF, but
WHEN."
I think our conversation got him to thinking.
I share this with you in hopes that it might spread, that more and more
military people might be approached with this question from well-meaning
citizens and decide beforehand that they would cease serving under a
government that would do this.
My guess is that some of freedom's greatest allies are to be found in the
ranks of those serving in the military, but that many of them are yet asleep
to the awful situation that has crept upon us so gradually that few perceive
it.

Many Military People are in agreement with us...that they have become sick and
tired of this Government...and will Stand with the People. From Col's. to
Pvt's. it warms my heart to know this...but there are many who Do in fact need
woke up to the Truth.

Bravo...We must protect all of the Bill of Rights, or we have no Bill of
Rights. The First and Second Amendment are the Police Force of the Bill.
Without those two, we might as well live in an Easter Block Country.
I hope more young Military people ponder these questions.
Thanks Sterling....
