The Bread of Life is Jesus

Keysters,
Before tackling my response to J.J.'s post, I would like to attempt first
to bring some common ground.
As I put myself in your shoes, here is what I see. When you come to believe
the maxim 'Ye are Gods,' and apply it to yourself, something inside of you
rejoices that you have limitless potential to become all that you could ever
dream of becoming. All the negativity that floats about you in the world
suddenly becomes insignificant as you realize who you really are. You can rise
above it all. Nothing can hold you down. Seize the day!
This aspect, I believe is good, and is indeed an integral invitation of the
gospel of Jesus Christ. It is completely scriptural -- no it is
quintessentially scriptural. It is the epitome of what the scriptures are all
about -- to exalt the human family. I believe with all my heart that God wants
every single one of his children to receive a fulness of joy and to inherit
all that he has. Jesus not only set himself as a pattern to follow, be even
went so far as to say, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth
on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these
shall he do; because I go unto my Father." (John 14:12.)
So in the end objective we are not in disagreement.
Where the strong disagreement comes into play is in the means of obtaining
that objective. Even in that above statement you see the caveat, "he that
believeth on me." Jesus Christ is the way, he is the means, there is no
other way nor means. Yes he is not just a way shower, but he is the gate, the
path, and the end -- becoming as he is is the objective, and he is the means
to arrive at that objective.
Several of you have said that the Bible does not hold much sway with you,
but it seems that you are willing to give the words spoken by Jesus a bit more
weight. With that in mind, I would like to submit to you the following
statements by Jesus Christ (Yesoos, Yeshua, Joshua the anointed) which
illustrate what I have been trying to say.
"For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall
deceive many." (Matthew 24:5; Mark 13:6; Luke 21:8.)
John 10:
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in
and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
"Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it." (Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 7:14; Luke
13:24; II Nephi 9:41; 31:18; 33:9; Jacob 6:11; III Ne. 14:13,14; 27:33.)
John 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
Matthew 28:
17 And when they saw him [the resurrected Lord], they worshipped him: but some
doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and,
lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
(John 3:5)
John 6:51
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat
the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will
raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in
him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that
eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat
manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
John 6:35
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me
shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
48 I am that bread of life.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world.
"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me
should not abide in darkness." (John 12:46.)
Let us not let our delight in a realization of the objective cloud our
minds as to the means of arriving at that objective.
Can you see why I get so worked up when I hear so many of you at this
keysters list marginalize Jesus Christ?
In the name of claiming Christhood, you crucify afresh the Christ that was
sent to bring you to Christhood.
That is no mild thing.
See where I am coming from?
Do you see that I have more than ample reason for that stance?
Can you see why I use words like "anti-Christ"?
Just using the word "Christ" does not make one a Christ. There is
such a thing as taking his name in vain.
If you want to become all that you can become, then you need to align
yourself with the path that God has set before you. Those statements above are
plain. They do not leave any room for waffling. You only way around them is to
say that Jesus did not actually say those things. But then you have to contend
with the multiple witnesses of the four gospels as well as of the Book of
Mormon -- but most importantly with the witness of the Holy Ghost which is
sent to bear record of the Father and of the Son. I have received all of these
witnesses and will not deny them.
Hence my hard-fast stand in this regard.
Yes, we all are children of God and as such ARE Gods in a certain sense, in
that we have it in us to inherit all that God has. But there are stipulations
in the plan. Straight is the gate, and narrow the way. Jesus is the door. He
is the good shepherd. There is no other way nor means under heaven whereby man
might be saved (overcome their fallen nature and step into their Godhood).
