Dear Paul:
Sterling Allan shared your email with me in case I can
help. Max is my uncle. He passed away in November in his sleep after
feeling extremely tired on a speaking engagement in Roosevelt, Utah.
I found out later he had a bad heart valve (besides diabetes). He
was scheduled to meet me soon for a discussion about Joseph Smith
and never made it.
Max's wife, Dorothy, lives in SLC. The couple only
rwcently moved there from California. You may contact their
oldest son, Clifford, for more information: CSKOUSEN@b202.usu.edu
Clifford is Dept. Chairman of accounting at USU in Logan, Utah.
As for Max's holistic views, he taught and published in
the health field for many years, but studied and promoted many
different topics, especially emotional healing and spiritual
mysteries.
He was controversial, and while making breakthroughs of
merit, he also held views that contradict themselves at points. But
every pioneer cuts a rough path and I chose to go there carefully. I
found that Max had much to offer that benefited me and many others.
As for the contradictions (such as the idea that there is no such
thing as sin), these concepts were false, in my opinion.
Sincerely,
David C. Skousen |
