Daughters of Light Book SummaryReview author wishes to remain anonymous Accounts of nineteenth and early twentieth century Mormon priestesses using their Goddess given spiritual gifts in majesty and power. This book is most powerful as it gives the modern Mormon priestess examples of using ones spiritual gifts to overcome many of the Last Days scenarios that were encountered in Early Mormonism (such as calamity, plague and pestilence, political oppression and persecution); scenarios that we will have to face and overcome through the grace of God and Goddess, and the spiritual gifts they grant us, to overcome all things in the current winding up scenes. Of the many timeless examples included there is one account of a woman administering to a person afflicted with smallpox and stopping the progression of the disease entirely. In this day and age of bio-warfare and powerful secret combinations we NEED righteous and empowered priestesses who are ready and willing to overcome all things in order to build up Zion. From the dust jacket: In a day when women are reaching for new powers, the Latter-day Saint woman can rejoice in hers. For she has been given, by virtue of her membership in the church and her companionship with the Holy Ghost, powers beyond the wildest dreams of the most aspiring women of our day. The early sisters of the restored Church showed remarkable spiritual powers: speaking in and interpreting tongues - prophesying - receiving revelations, visions and other manifestations - healing and being healed - casting out evil spirits. Women of today are searching for models of righteous strength. We can find them nowhere better than in our own historical heritage. The foremothers of todays latter-day Saint women were indeed Daughters of Light. Used copies can be obtained through Sam Weller's (801-328-2586) and Benchmark Books (801-486-3111) in Salt Lake City. Copies can often be found quite inexpensively at Deseret Industries stores throughout Utah as well. I have also encountered a book entitled Twentieth Century Daughters of Light ,by a different author, which has more modern examples. |
