THE FOLLOWING IS ACCORDING TO MY NOTES AND
RECOLLECTIONS. THIS ACCOUNT WAS READ AND VERIFIED IN A PHONE CALL TO
GAYLE, Oct. 9, 1998
Gayle Smith, who had a near death experience in 1969, claims
(with bold, consistent testimony and great suffering as a result) to have been
shown many visions pertaining to what is coming. For several years now,
especially in the past three or four years, she has been told to share what
she has been shown.
She has seen in graphic vision four major earthquakes for
Wasatch Front, Utah. The first would be a large one, doing quite a bit of
damage. It would be so large that people will think, "This is the big one
the scientists have been warning about;" yet it would be a baby compared
the three others. This first quake would follow "ten days after the
economic collapse," which would happen in October, "shortly
after" her mother-in-law died (whatever the Lord means by
"shortly," Gayle commented). She wasn't told the year, just the
month. She was also told it would come in a time of many rumors of economic
turmoil. She was shown that there would be moves to impeach President
Clinton, and that if he did not step down he would be assassinated -- it would
be his choice.
The second earthquake, far more devastating, would come
fifteen days after the first quake. In this one, no one would not have a
personal loss of a loved one. Major structural damage would be incurred.
At some point early on in this chaos, martial law would
imposed and severe restrictions on freedom incurred. Freeways and accesses to
and from cities would be blocked to confine people to cities for easier
control; and communications would be severed for the same reason. Also along
the way, the government (which has rejected the foundations of freedom on
which this nation was built) confiscates food, guns & ammunition from the
people. It then distributes the food, but will require a person take in their
right hand or in the forehead a smart-card-like computer chip implant coded
with vital information to that person. Gayle was shown that it will
contain an 18-digit number [18
is 6 + 6 + 6] beginning with 666,
for the world code; 110 for the U.S., for example; 801
for the Wasatch Area code; and ending with the 9-digit social security number.
Gayle saw that many religious leaders would assent to this plan under
the dire circumstances and would encourage their flocks accordingly.
She also saw that eventually the implementation of this mark would be
mandatory, with the penalty for not taking it being death, thus fulfilling Revelations
13:16.
The scriptures state clearly the severe spiritual and
temporal penalty for those who knowingly take the mark. In taking the
mark, they align themselves with Satan both in this world temporally and in
the eternities spiritually; and they will burn with great torment, both
temporally and spiritually. (See Revelation
14:9-13 below.) Those leaders
who promote this, having known Christ intimately, become
perdition. (D&C 76:28-38)
Those who do not take this mark will be beheaded (Gayle saw
guillotines), so the righteous will be forced underground and into the literal
wilderness. Those who are betrayed or
discovered will rather lay down their life than take this mark.
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the
commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (Rev. 14:12.)
Also, foreign troops come in as part of the occupation and
martial law forces, as well as being a part of the global struggle for
hegemony in this chaos. Gayle saw a nuclear bomb detonated near Salt Lake
City.
Pestilence from germ and chemical weaponry, brutality, mob
rule, gangs, rape, torture, cannibalism of live victims, and other such brute
beast behavior will be rampant. Gayle said seeing and anticipating the
horrible deeds done by these people turned sub-human is far more frightening
to her than seeing the natural calamities she has seen and believes will come.
There will be many months of abject suffering, after which
time of chastening purging, the power of God will begin to be manifest in
delivering people from their oppression.
The third and fourth quakes will be welcomed by the
righteous as these greatly facilitate their deliverance from the oppression
which will have come. The third quake, specifically a cleansing one, is so
huge that it sets off massive cataclysmic events: (not just in Utah but in
surrounding areas, actually setting off a worldwide chain reaction) volcanoes,
lava flows, torrents of water from underground aquifers shooting 400 feet high
for miles long from chasms in the earth (mixed with flames of fire, perhaps
from underground gas deposits being released as well), burying the Wasatch
Front completely under water. "Upon my house shall it begin, and from my
house shall it go forth, saith the Lord." (D&C
112:25.) Those who will not have hearkened to the warnings will be
washed away. In the words of Isaiah to the Drunkards of Ephraim in the head of
the fat valleys [e.g. Wasatch Front Utah], "Behold, the Lord hath
a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as
a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the
hand. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden
under feet." (Isa.
28:2,3.)
The fourth quake will be felt world-wide simultaneously.
Gayle said that her guess at this point is that this could be when the comet
she has seen hits the earth, preceded by the tail which brings a shower of
fiery hail. That earthquake will have the effect of draining the water from
the baptized (by fire and water) valley. It then becomes a safe haven,
to which many even worldwide will gather to the standard of freedom and
righteousness that will be set up. This valley then becomes a sea of tents to
prepare the saints of God for their journey to the New Jerusalem.
"And the serpent casteth out of his mouth water as a
flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away in the
flood. And the earth helpeth the woman, and the earth openeth her mouth, and
swalloweth up the flood which the dragon casteth out of his mouth."
(Rev. 12:15,16)
EPILOGUE

MIGHT
REPENT
In
calling Gayle and confirming this account with her, she also mentioned a
massive wind that would take place in which she saw boulders the size of
houses flying through the air, in conjunction with the earth reversing
poles. ["And the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard"
(Isa. 24:20; D&C 45:48; 49:23; 88:87).] We agreed that this would
probably happen much later, as a symbol of Satan's reign on this earth coming
to an end, and his work being turned up-side-down (or God turning things
right-side-up), ushering in a new heaven and a new earth.
Wouldn't it be great if Gayle were wrong about these pending
disasters? She has said as much herself, but she cannot deny that
these things were given her of the Lord. I personally see them as being
consistent with what I have found prophesied in scripture. Furthermore,
there are many other individuals who have been given similar visions and who
have been similarly pressed upon by the Lord to share what they have seen.
As Gayle and I wrapped up our conversation, we discussed the
possibility that massive prayer and repentance could turn these things away,
at least stalling them off. We reminisced about two years ago when so
many of us thought this was going to happen then, in October of 1996.
Another of the signs Gayle had been given was that her mother-in-law's arm
would go black before she died. And two years ago, perhaps because of a
bleed from a blood test, her arm became completely black.
Some would argue that saying something was postponed is a
lame excuse for a prediction not coming to pass. I don't believe
so. The story of Jonah and Nineveh illustrates that principle
well. Regarding this possibility of these thing being turned away again,
Gayle said to me, "If we are doing what [God] wants us to do, listening
to his Spirit, he will grant us whatever we ask for."
"But," she added, "it also give Satan more time to do his
work," so we have to turn it over to the Lord that his will be
done. I added that if the Lord saw fit to grant us more time yet again,
that he would therefore expect of us to make good use of that time in
repenting and helping to turn things around, otherwise when the destructions
do come they will be all the more severe.
There sure are a lot of things lined up now, like never
before. The world financial markets are a mess, many having gone past the
brink into catastrophe, and are bringing others down with them like
dominoes. There are not many tricks left to stave off the viscous blow
of an inevitable meltdown of Babylon -- except massive repentance. I
vote we repent -- not to save Babylon, but to save as many as possible out of
Babylon.
