The Mentinah Archives are alleged to be the recorded histories of the people
known anciently as the "Nemenhah" (people of the truth) who
trace their history from the journey of Hagoth into the Land Northward
into what is now known as the "four corners" area.
They were allegedly written upon plates of various metals, processed animal
hides and paper velum. Allegedly, the
records were archived in several locations in North and Central America
anciently, with the only surviving copies of the histories of the Nemenhah being
strictly guarded in the libraries at a non-disclosed location in Sanpete County,
Utah. When the LDS church said they could not translate them another
person eventually translated them into Spanish-related language. They were
then translated into English and first published Nov. 11, 2004. (11/11)
The hallmark is the alleged "rest of the
story" of Samuel the Lamanite. A visit of Jesus Christ and a
presentation of his teachings are featured as well. Samuel the
Lamanite is presented as a great grandson of Alma, and grandson of Corianton,
who apparently was misunderstood by Alma, and actually had converted and married
the once harlot, Isabel. According to Alma 63:10, had Corianton not sailed
north to bring provisions to Hagoth's people, he would have become caretaker of
the records we now possess as the Book of Mormon.
According to the Book of Mormon INDEX page
prepared by the LDS Church, the following sections in the Book of Mormon pertain
to Corianton and Samuel the Lamanite:
CORIANTON -- son
of Alma2 [c. 75 B.C.]
Alma 31:7 goes to Zoramites; 39:3 had forsaken
ministry to go after harlot; 39:11 because of C's conduct, Zoramites do not
believe words of Alma2; ch. 39-42 Alma2 instructs C. on
state of soul after death, on resurrection, probation, redemption, justice,
atonement, repentance, and agency; 42:31 is called to preach again; 63:10
sails northward.
SAMUEL2
-- Lamanite prophet [c. 6 B.C.]
Hel. ch. 13-15 prophecy of S. the Lamanite to the
Nephites; 13:2 comes into Zarahemla; 13:5 (3 Nephi 23:9-10) speaks words of
the Lord; 14:14, 20-28 foretells signs of Christ's death; 14:15-19 teaches
concerning resurrection and redemption; 16:1,3 those who believe S. desire
baptism; 16:2,6 many are angry with S. and try to kill him; 16:7 flees.

It doesn't seem to be a doctrinal bombshell, but is, rather, a baby step
forward from what we have now in scripture.

alphabetics if you are not familiar with this code approach.
"Mentinah" Inserted Alphabetically in the NT Lexicon
"Mentinah" inserts between word 3304 (menounge: "yes
indeed, yes verily") and word 3305 (mentoi; "indeed, truly,
certainly) in the New Testament lexicon. Word 3303 also means "indeed
truly."
Prior to that is a very interesting and remarkable phenomenon. In his
numbering of the words of the New Testament, James Strong went from 3202 to
3303, skipping the numbers 3203 through 3302. This typographical error is
the only numbering error in both the New and Old Testament lexicons.
Despite this singular error, James Strong's numbering has been the standard for
over a century. In our context, this omission conveys the idea of
something "missing," -- additional scripture now found in this case.
The word following 3305 is meno: "to remain, abide, dwell,
live," conveying the idea of this account of those who dwelt in America
beyond those recorded in the Book of Mormon.
"Mentinah" Inserted Alphabetically in the OT Lexicon
The word "Mentinah" inserts as follows in the Old Testament
lexicon:
4519,20 Menasseh (1) son of Joseph...
4521 menath a part, a portion
> Mentinah
4522 mas/mees tribute
4523 mawce one pining away, one who is consumed
This seems to convey the idea of a record that is a tribute to a portion of
tribe of Menasseh who were also consumed with similar travails as recorded in
the Book of Mormon.
269 (Number of Page in Mentinah Vol. 1)
Page 269 Gesenius Lexicon to Old Testament
Page 269 of Gesenius begins with definition 2377, which means, "(1) a
divine vision; (2) a divine revelation; (3) an oracle." Several other
words on the page have similar definitions.
Word 269 in the Old Testament lexicon (James Strong numbering) means, "a
sister," which brings to mind the idea of a "sister prophecy," or
record of a kin people.
Word 269 in the New Testament lexicon means, "not disposed to
fight," with antonym meaning of "peacemaker," perhaps as
reference to the thrust of the message contained.
