In the Bible
- There are 66 books in the Bible, the
"word of God."
- The book of books, Isaiah, has 66
chapters. (See Isa.
66 = II Thes. 2 parallel.)
- On page 66 of James
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible are found the word
topics, "anoint, anointed, anointedst, anointest, anointing,"
which is the meaning of the word Messiah/Christ.
- There are 1189 chapters
in the Bible. 1189 = 66
x 18 + 1. Eighteen is the same as 6 + 6
+ 6. Hence the total number of chapters in the Bible
immediately follows this line-up of 6 6 6, illustrating an immediate
juxtaposition of exact opposites: the word of God versus the
antichrist.
- There are 66 words in the Lord's
prayer.
- In Isaiah, there are 66 verses that
have the word "righteousness" and/or "salvation."
- Entering "Zephaniah" into the Infobases scripture
search program yields 66 hits. Zephaniah is an obscure yet very
significant Old Testament book.
- Entering "not desire" into Infobases yields 66
hits ["and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we
should desire him." (Isa. 53:2.); "When I came among my own, no
man among you received me. When I called again, there was none
to answer" (D&C 103:66,67.)]
- The 66th chapter of the Bible is Exodus
16, which is the story of manna from
heaven. Again, manna is a scriptural metaphor for the word
and for Christ. (John 6:31-58; Rev. 2:17.)
- 66 x 66
= 4356. Word 4356 in James Strong's "Hebrew and Chaldee
Dictionary" appendix in his Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible is on
page 66. See "435 and the Mormon Remnant Outcasts."
It means, "A pen (for flocks); (sheep) fold." Word 4356 in
the Greek NT means "a taking to oneself, acceptance, receiving,
admission," which calls to mind the image of the awakened Remnant who
receive that which they have and hence are given greater things until they
receive a fulness, being taken into God's presence and sealed as his. They
are received of God because they receive God.
- "All the souls that came with Jacob into
Egypt, which came out of his loins,
besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six"
or 66 (Gen. 46:26) Again in these
latter-days, Jacob's seed is instrumental in bringing forth the word of God,
to save the world from Spiritual famine.
- A third part, of the hosts of heaven were cast out with the devil, leaving
two-thirds part with the Lord, which could be represented as 66%
(Rev. 12:4; D&C 29:36).
- "Mankind" in English Gematria equals 66 and "grapes"
in English Gematria equals 66. In the Spiritual Bible code
"grapes" represents "mankind" or people, since we are
the "fruit of the vine" that has been grafted in! (contributed by
David A. Kinderes 9/13/00).
In the Restoration
Scriptures
- The very important preface (section 1) to the Doctrine &
Covenants was written next (seven days) after section 66,
followed two days later by section 133, which is called the
"appendix."
- Half way between the number 133 and 1 is 66.
- The section prior to 133 has 66 verses.
It states, "...I will reveal more unto you, hereafter; therefore, let
this suffice for the present...." This encodes the idea of greater
things yet to come forth.
- What we have now as the Book of Mormon is but one third of the record that
Joseph found in the stone box shown him by the Angel Moroni.
Two-thirds, or 66%, of the record
remained sealed, as it contains greater things.
- The first Isaiah quotation in the Book of Mormon is found in 1 Nephi 20
(Isaiah 48). That chapter is arranged in a very clear parallel structure, the first
half paralleling the second half. There are 33 consecutive parallel
sets. Multiplying this by the two columns yields 66.
-
| The Book of Mormon has 238 chapters in it. The number 238,
divided by 66, is 3 and 40/66,
or 3.606060606060... Note that "6" resembles the
opening quotation mark: ('), which links to the idea of the word. |
 |
| The Doctrine & Covenants has 138 sections. 138 divided by 66
is 2 and 6/66, or
2.090909090909... Note that "9" resembles the closing
quotation mark: ('), which also links to the idea of the word. |
 |
Combined, 238 + 138 = 376. And 376 divided by 66
is 5 and 46/66, or 5.696969696969... Thus, together, the Book of
Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants complete the quotation set: . ('') .
There are 16 chapters/sections in the Pearl of Great Price (including
JS-Matt., JS-H, and AofF). Adding these to the number of chapters/sections
in the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants, along with the Title
Page statement and the two "witness" statements of the Book of
Mormon gives 395 = (66 x 6)
- 1 chapters/sections again, just one away from a line-up of 6 6 6,
juxtaposing epitome evil with epitome good.
Referring to the first coming, D&C 133:66
reads, "In that day when I came unto mine own, no man among you
received me, and you were driven out." Bringing this to our day,
speaking of those who will not hearken to the voice or word of the Lord
(133:63), the verse after 66 continues,
"when I called again there was none of you to answer."
| In synergistic contrast, on page 66
of the LDS Topical Guide are found the words "Come; Comforter;
Coming" |

In Hebrew
- The word for "six" in Hebrew is spelled, shin shin.
Therefore, 66 could be represented by
four shins, which brings to mind the idea of the four-pronged shin,
which has reference to the birthing of Zion, the three-pronged shin being in
a shape that represents the breech birth.
- Word number 376 (= total
BofM/D&C chapters/sections; and = total number of verses in all
scripture with a form of the word "six*")
in the Hebrew lexicon is, "A man," and occurs on page 40
[Moses] of Gesenius. This is an
interesting validation that six is the number of man.
- Page 66 of Gesenius includes
the following definitions
- -#606 [notice the two sixes]
"A man; a son of man; appellation
of the Messiah." [who is the word, the manna from heaven]
- -#607-8 "thou, ye."
- -#613 which is the cardinal number of Jewish laws. Word 613 means
"bond, imprisonment." (see write-up on 613)

In Greek
- Word number 376 in the
New Testament Greek lexicon means, "Maimed" [e.g. marred,
(3 Ne. 21:10,11)].
- Page
66
of Zodhiates has words number 25 agapao and 26 agape,
which mean "Love," which is the essence of the word of
God. (See 1 Ne. 11:25;
Jacob 3:2; 1 John 4:16.) Word = God = Love. It is also the root
for word 27, "beloved," which is the meaning of David.
Other Incidences
 | My parent's address in Fountain Green Utah, where I lived when I made this
alphabetics word-number discovery is P.O. Box 66
|
 | My name, "Sterling D. Allan" with alphabetic conversion
where a = 1, b = 2, etc. but with space = -36 and period (.) = -18 gives a
sum of 66 . |
 |
| This headline appeared in the paper on the day I went
to the Herald to pay for an add I had scheduled to run for this www.greaterthings.com web
site. A few days prior, I had moved from Alpine |
 |
|
 | The shape of the opening quotation mark (")
resembles 66, providing yet another incidence of 66 in relation to "the
word." |
