The Hebrew spelling insertion point of Mormon (0/9/)
comes between word 4822 and 4823 in the O.T. lexicon. The insertion point between word 4822 and
4823 in the Greek lexicon (Zodhiates) falls on page 1327. The number 1327
is equal to the sum of 531 and 796.
796.5 = 531 x 1 2/3.
There are 531 pages in the Book of Mormon (current LDS copyright).
Hence, 531 is 2/3 of 796.5, and 2/3 is the idea of the greater things promised to come forth,
the portion we have now being but 1/3, the remaining 2/3 being sealed.
This idea of greater things applies both to the Book of Mormon in reference to the Bible, as
well as to greater understandings gained through approaches such as the present one, in reference
to the scriptures we have already been given.
The word closest to the spelling of "Mormon" in Greek is #3473, mwrologia
morologia. Taking the numeric value of each of these letters and adding them up gives 1124.
Word #1124 in the Greek lexicon means "Holy Scriptures."
Word #1124 in Hebrew means, "to build." Gesenius lists the next word as
meaning, "to build, to erect, as a house, a temple; rebuild, restore."
Page 1124 of Zodhiates lists the end of word 3952
3952 coming,
(D) The coming of the Lord at the end of the seven-year tribulation period...;
(III) Of the coming or manifestation of the man of sin.
Ant. ([word#]666), absence."
Fascinating that an antonym would be word number six hundred sixty six -- 666, the
number of the beast. One of the primary messages of the Book of Mormon is to expose the
workings through time and especially in these latter-days of secret combinations that seek to
overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries. The Book of Mormon chronicles
two mighty civilizations that inhabited the land of America and were destroyed because of secret
combinations, prophetically warning that the same will happen to us if we do not awaken to a sense
of our awful situation.
Also on the page is word 3956, "All," which to me contains the idea of
the fullness, both of wrath and of victory, as well as of knowledge and joy. This is the
fullness of times.
Having found such a gold-mine for various occurrences of 531, I thought I would try also page
531 of the Eight Translation New Testament which
compares in column format eight of the major NT versions.
It is highly relevant to the idea of greater light coming forth but being rejected by those who
were stewards of the preparatory light. It reflects on the Jews in their rejection of the
Savior, though he was a fulfillment of their Torah. It extrapolates to the Christians
in their rejection of the Book of Mormon and the restoration of the gospel through Joseph Smith,
though it is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy; and it also captures the Mormon's rejection of
the greater work that will come among them, built on the Book of Mormon and other scriptures in
their possession. The first shall be last, and the last shall be first.
The excerpt begins in context of the Savior's teaching regarding those who say, "We ate
and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets," but to whom the Lord replies,
"I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me all you work-
[<<now on page 531>>]
ers of iniquity!' There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac
and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. And men will
come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at the table in the kingdom of God.
And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who
will be last."
At that very hour some Pharisees came, and said to him, "Get away from
here, for Herod wants to kill you." And he said to them, "God and tell that fox,
'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my
course. Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following; for it
cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem." O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your
children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! Behold, your
house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me
And thus ends page 531. (Luke 13:28 to 13:35.)
Note the wording "today and tomorrow." Recall that page 531 of the LDS Topical
Guide begins with the word "Today" and ends with the word "tomorrow."
Finally, consider the following prophecy from the Book of Mormon in light of the above passage
from page 531 of the eight translation New Testament. Note the identical concepts as well as
phraseology of verse 42; and note that the context of this is a prophecy specifically regarding
the Book of Mormon and its role in relation to the Bible:
40 And the angel spake unto me, saying: These last records [the Book of Mormon], which thou
hast seen among the Gentiles, shall establish the truth of the first [the Bible], which are of
the twelve apostles of the Lamb, and shall make known the plain and precious things which have
been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the
Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must
come unto him, or they cannot be saved.
41 And they must come according to the words which shall be established by the mouth of the
Lamb; and the words of the Lamb shall be made known in the records of thy seed, as well as in
the records of the twelve apostles of the Lamb; wherefore they both shall be established in one;
for there is one God and one Shepherd over all the earth.
42 And the time cometh that he shall manifest himself unto all nations,
both unto the Jews and also unto the Gentiles; and after he has manifested himself unto the Jews
and also unto the Gentiles, then he shall manifest himself unto the Gentiles and also unto the
Jews, and the last shall be first, and the first shall be last.
Mosiah 18:30 "Mormon" and 1830
Joseph Smith established the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) on April 6,
1830. Notice the number of times the word "Mormon" is found in Mosiah 18:30.
"And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon,
yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near
the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon,
the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon,
how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer;
yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever." (Mosiah 18:30.)
The purpose of the Book of Mormon, and of the Church that arose from the restoration, given the
nickname of Mormon, is to bring men to Christ, that they might receive of his fullness. The
Book of Mormon is beyond compare in its effectiveness. What about the members of the
Church? How well are they doing? For Alphabetics commentary on that, see the write-up Mormons
and 801.
