Yeshua is word number 3091 in the Old Testament Lexicon. Gesenius gives
two possible spellings of the word. The gamatria of the two spellings is
as follows
YHWShAy = Y (10 + H (5) + W (6) + Sh (300) + Ay (70) = 391
YHWShWAy = Y (10) + H (5) + W (6) + Sh (300) + W (6) + Ay (70) = 397
With this we have three numbers to look at for possible correlations and
insightful analogies: 3091, 391, and 397.
Curiously, 391 is a variation of the digits 3091.
Word definition 391 in the OT lexicon (Gesenius) is
391 akzab lying, false, deceptive.
The opposite of that would be "truth."
Word 391 derives from word 3579 which is found on page 389 of Gesenius OT
lexicon, just two pages prior to page 391.
I must admit that it is baffling to me that these word numbers associated
with Yeshua would give the antonym meaning of that cardinal attribute of
divinity of "truth.' It goes to show that this approach cannot be
purely analytical but requires subjectivity as well to decide how an
application is to be made.
Word 391 in the NT Lexicon (Zodhiates) is
391 anastrophe A turning about. In the NT, mode of life,
conduct, behavior, deportment; life, as made up of actions.
Syn (2222), life . . .
This meaning is closer to what we might expect for a word relating to
Yeshua -- life; and specifically alludes to the idea of the manner of how one
lives his life; the idea of 'turning about' conveying also the idea of 'mighty
change' or repentance, though that concept is usually not thought of in terms
of Jesus Christ himself.
Page 391 of Zodhiates is another antonym meaning. The word definition
that fills that page is
1139 daimonizomai To be violently possessed by, to be in
the power of a demon.
Jesus was certainly accused of being under the power of Beelzebub (Mark
3:22), and those who follow him are to be prepared to be accused similarly.
Page 391 of Thayer's NT lexicon are the words 3140, 3141, and 3142 which all
have the meaning of "testimony, testifying."
On page 391 of James Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible are
the topic headings:
giving, ...glad, ...glorified, ...glorify, ...glorious
The word "giving" links to the last (omega) word of the OT
lexicon. 'Glorifying' is also certainly applicable to the idea of Yeshua.
On page 391 of the LDS Topical Guide (Bible) are the entries:
Priesthood, Power of ...
Priests
Prince
The 391st chapter of the Bible is II Chron. 24, which begins in verse one
with a mention of Joash, which name appears on the same page as Yeshua in
Gesenius' lexicon. This coincidence hints that there may be something of
parabolic significance to be gleaned from this chapter.
The chapter heading reads
Joash and Jehoiada receive contributions and repair the house of the Lord
--- Jehoiada dies, Joash falls into idolatry, slays a prophet named
Zechariah, and is himself slain in a conspiracy.
What comes to my mind is the idea of all the temple building that is going
on, concurrent with the straying of the Lord's people from sincere worship of
God; and how those who convey that message, warning of apostasy, are cast off
as though they are the ones who apostate. But in the end, those who
pollute the ways of the Lord will be put away.
The 397th chapter of the Bible is II Chronicles 30. That chapter
heading reads
Hezekiah invites all Israel to a solemn passover in Jerusalem --- Some
accept the call; others laugh him to scorn --- Faithful portion of Israel
worship the Lord in Jerusalem
This calls to mind the idea of the righteous remnant who awake and put on
strength. The wording in verse five is particularly interesting
"They had not done it of a long time...."
Indeed, it has been a very long time since the remnant of Israel have tuned
their hearts to the feasts God appointed. Not everything that Moses
instituted was supposed to be obliterated. The ten commandments are
certainly still of great efficacy. How many of the special feasts are
destined to be kept once more in righteousness?
Page 391 of the Book of Mormon spans Helaman 9:31a through 10:5a in which
Nephi, son of Helaman, is giving the power of God because he has shown that he
will not do anything contrary to the will of God.
Page 391 of the Triple Comb. Index (D&C, PGP) has the following
headings
Ward
Warfare
Warn, Warning
Wash
Waste
Watch, Watchful
Actually, it is this last one that seems to have a great deal of hidden
meaning. I'll explain when I get a chance.
Briefly, what comes to mind right off is that on page 666 of the LDS
publication of the KJV Bible is Nehemiah 45 which includes the word
"ward" twice. "Ward" is a significant LDS word,
being the name of the local congregation. In the footnote for
"ward" in the LDS Bible publication is the meaning "guard,
watch."
Ironically, warnings about 666 and the warfare we face with the beast are
almost nil in the wards of the LDS Church, hence opening the people up to the
wasting destructions that will come as the beast makes war with the saints and
prevails against them for a season.
The reason for this neglect is that the LDS people do no realize that there
is more to the 'kingdom' of God than just the gospel; but that it also
includes an aspect of government. Yeshua is not just to be Lord of
lords, but King of kings. It is that latter aspect of Yeshua that they
miss, as the Jews anciently missed the former.
